What is the cost of attending the workshop?
The registration fee for the Workshop is 2000 AUD. Applicants are encouraged to apply for Fellowships to help support the costs of their attendence. Trainee Fellowships cover the costs of travel, accommodation and food. Financial Hardship Fellowships cover the all costs of attending the workshop including travel, accommodation, food, and the registration fee. Check the Fellowships link for details.

What is the Central Coast climate?
The Central Coast is an inviting year-round destination with a temperate, oceanic climate delivering warm summares and mild winters. Average temperature in September is 22C (71.6F).


Where is the nearest international airport?
Sydney Airport (SYD) is the nearest international airport, at approximately 90 minutes from the venue. Ground transport will be provided by the Workshop.

Do participants have free time?
The workshop is intensive, interactive, and problem-oriented. Participants are expected to have a completed study protocol written by the end of the workshop. Participants submit drafts of their concept outline, first half of their protocol, second half of their protocol, and the participant information sheet on successive nights of the workshop. There are also social events scheduled on most days of the workshop. Free time is provided for participants to work on their study protocols.

What should I bring to the Workshop?
Participants should bring a portable computer, and electronic copies of your draft concept outline, a brief presentation describing your proposed study, a more detailed written background and rationale for your proposed study, and your draft protocol. Participants are also asked to bring a prop and/or costumes for the International Night. Participants should also bring casual clothes for a six-day stay.

How should I prepare?
At the minimum, before you arrive at th workshop, you should have written a more detailed background, literature review and rationale for your study (e.g. 2-3 pages). You should also prepare a brief (5 minute) presentation for the first day of the workshop that introduces you and outlines your proposed study to your Protocol Development Group.
